New parliament building

The Indian government is set to inaugurate the new Parliament Building on May 28, 2023. The building has been constructed at a cost of ₹836 crore and has an area of 64,500 square metres. The grand inauguration of the new Parliament building focuses on the Hindu tradition and legacy established by Chola rulers. The government is attempting to reclaim the lost Chola era glory & legacy of the Hindu rulers. The Chola dynasty was renowned for its extraordinary contributions to Indian architecture, arts, and literature and culture. The new building has been designed to accommodate up to 1,272 people, which is a significant increase compared to the old parliament house. The government’s move is likely to create difficulties for the opposition parties ruling in the southern and coastal states. The new building is a symbol of India’s democracy, and it will provide a more spacious and comfortable environment for the members of parliament during their sessions.
